Best Festive Sweaters: Christmas Jumper Round-up 2015!

I’m not going to lie. From November until January, I wear as many Christmas jumpers as I possibly can. December is obviously reserved for the most Christmassy of my collection, but there’s nothing wrong with wearing a nice Fair Isle inspired sweater, or a cute reindeer print in the dark days of January (and beyond…?)

With that in mind, I’ve scoured some of my favourite retailers to bring you my best of the festive selection!

The Best Christmas Jumpers

Here’s where to get your hands on these beauties, starting from the top left, then moving left to right, row by row:

Which is your favourite? I have to say, it’s hard for me to pick, but the Joules navy stripe with stag print might just be my favourite – I’ve purchase one, and it’s so soft I don’t want to take it off! And, as a bonus, the stag head is knitted with gold sparkly wool, too! Heaven!

SummerDine at West Quay Southampton

West Quay is such an awesome place to shop and eat – and over the summer, it just got even better, thanks to the SummerDine promotion. From now until the end of August, there’s going to be a host of offers and discounts at loads of the centre’s cafes, restaurants and food kiosks – handy for those summer holiday shopping trips!

To take advantage of the offers, you can download WestQuay’s brand new mobile app, PLUS, which contains exclusive discounts across the centre’s large range of retailers. Amongst the offers currently on the app are 20% off Ed’s Easy Diner, kids eat free at Harry Ramsden’s, and a free original glazed doughnut (my favourite!) at Krispy Kreme with any purchase.

wagamama

There are so many amazing shops and restaurants at West Quay, I couldn’t possibly list them all for fear of missing out on one of my favourites (although… hey, John Lewis and Wagamama come pretty high on the list… And don’t forget to pop into Hotel Chocolate for a free sample of their latest new treats… And I always have to see what’s on the belt at Yo! Sushi… And, I simply have to try out the Handmade Burger Co. soon too…) To find out more about West Quay, head to their site here: www.west-quay.co.uk.

Summer Trends for 2015!

There’s no denying it – the muggy summer heat is upon us, and even here in Blighty, there are days when I can’t even go out into the garden without breaking into a sweat. Every year we have a new crop of summer trend articles to tell us what’s in this season (hint: usually a combination of safari prints, nautical themes, and neons or brights), but which one of those are actually worth following?

First and most important, let’s not forget hats. Wouldn’t the world be a nicer place if we all wore hats? I have no evidence to prove either way, so I’m going to go with a hearty YES. The boho trend is big this year, and big, floppy hats look absolutely gorgeous paired with floaty summer tops – think cream fabrics, lace and embroidery. I, on the other hand, like to err on the more formal side of the hat equation!

Ascot Hat

Of course, you can also channel the ‘floppy hat’ trend into something a bit more formal too – go for a stiffer material, and something with a darker colour, like this hat from Hobbs I wore to the Coronation Festival at Buckingham Palace:

The other great love of my (fashion) life is nautical style, especially Breton tops. These stripy sailor tops have been in fashion since Coco Chanel translated them from peasant garb to couture in the early years of the last century. They’ve been catapulted into the spotlight recently by some high profile appearances in the wardrobe of the Duchess of Cambridge. Kate has been spotted wearing ME + EM’s Breton tops in both white on navy and cobalt on white – it might not be on the runways this year, but you can always count on a Breton top to take you through the seasons year after year. I love J.Crew’s St James top (here) and Joules’ Harbour tops (here), while the ME+EM tops are available here.

Finally, if it’s shoes you’re after, don’t forget that the ghost of ’70s fashion is still haunting the runways. You can channel this with some cool wooden effect wedges – perfect for summer, easy to walk in, and not so ’70s that the ghost of Farrah Fawcett will rise up and snatch them off your feet…

Wedges

I love these two part closed wedges from Next – and if you wait until Saturday, they’ll be half price in the sale!

What’s your favourite summer trend this year?

Taste of London 2015: Glorious Gluttony in Regent’s Park!

I absolutely love going to Taste of London – the first time I went was in 2010 as part of my hen party (which also included afternoon tea at The Ritz, karaoke and Louboutin shopping at Harrods!) and it was such a ball I’ve been dying to go back for ages! This year the stars aligned and I managed to visit the June festival for the Friday morning sessions.

If you love food and you love the London restaurant scene, you should definitely make sure you pay the event a visit! Here’s my guide to the best the event has to offer…
