You may have noticed my sudden passion for BaubleBar (affiliate link) – I’ve lusted after these gorgeous trinkets for a long time, and realised recently that they were available to purchase for UK customers – with duty free delivery when you spend over $100 (very easy!). I made my first order last week and couldn’t be happier – although I got a trifle click happy and wound up with two sets of these gorgeous bangles by accident.

However, don’t weep for me, because this is good news for you! I’ve decided to give my extra set away as a prize on Twitter. I have been waiting a long time to visit Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium – the UK’s first ever cat cafe. I’ve been waiting since February 2013, to be exact, when I joined in with hundreds of other people on indiegogo.com to help get the business off the ground. I also covered the campaign in the magazine I edit, and waited patiently for the day to roll around when I could cash in my voucher for High Tea for Two – which was a present for my husband for Valentine’s day.

Do you guys remember that silly song Lily the Pink? Maybe it’s just because my mum was a bit of a guitar toting folk singer in her youth, but I used to sing that song alllll the time. Lily the Pink was, of course, the saviour of the human race – so therefore it makes total sense as to why I’ve fallen head over heels for every Mulberry Lily ever made in pink (and there are a lot…)

The London Color Run: Hints, Tips and Advice for the Happiest 5k on the Planet!

You know that advert where there’s some kind of amazing festival with everyone throwing coloured dye on each other, and it’s supposed to make you want to buy a car or a camera or something, but actually it just makes you want to run outside in a spray of yellow, purple and red, dancing around like a toddler hopped up on too much Haribo? Of course you do – how could you forget? Well, if you’re anything like me, once you have a dream in mind, you set about to find a way to make it happen. And, funnily enough, where there’s a dream, there’s usually someone ready to make that dream come true if you give them some money. To cut a long story short, earlier this month I went on the Color Run in Wembley, London. That’s basically what I’m trying to tell you.

Like everyone else, I’m a huge Game of Thrones fan – who doesn’t love dragons, dinner and debauchery? Just like with The Hunger Games, it was partially the description of all that delicious food that hooked me in, and I’m obviously not the only one. If you have a passing interest in the food of GoT, you’ll probably have heard of the amazing recipe book A Feast of Ice & Fire, by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel and Sariann Lehrer. They started out with the blog Inn at the Crossroads, which is an equally amazing journey through some of the most intriguing recipes from Westeros and beyond. Many of the recipes are based on originals from Medieval cookery, which weirdly enough I also have an interest in, so this recipe book was a massive must-buy for me!

Gougères: A recipe for the perfect chic little nibble at your next summer party

Gougères.

I’d heard of gougères before I made them, but I could never really understand why people raved about them so much. Basically, these are cheese puffs, made from the same kind of pastry usually used for patisserie like eclairs or choux buns – except this is a savoury version. They’re just cheesy, pastry bites – but in this case, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. Trust me when I tell you that these will be devoured in short order at your next party – and they’re so chic you can even serve them for something formal as well as a BBQ!
