Get Royally Lippy: Charlotte Tilbury Puckers Up For The Crown with Your Lip Service

You’re not surprised to hear that I am an absolute sucker for anything to do with royalty and my favourite makeup brand, are you? When The Crown debuted on Netflix in November 2016, like everyone else I was enchanted by Claire Foy’s charismatic portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II. And, like everyone else, I coveted her perfectly gorgeous raspberry-coloured pout. Charlotte Tilbury, queen of the makeup trends, released a limited edition lipstick called The Queen, inspired by HRH and with exactly the kind of rich, deep, raspberry colour I was after.

Then, this month, CT debuted another new colour inspired by a royal, this time called The Duchess. Currently an online exclusive, this tea rose shade is no doubt inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge, who is well known for her love of a more subtle lip colour. It’s such an easy colour to wear for the everyday, and although I thought it looked a bit too baby pink in the online pic, when it arrived I was relieved to see that it’s a much more understated pigment.

Not content to stop there, Charlotte has also created another online exclusive shade, Legendary Queen, which is a deep, beautiful wine shade. With a matte finish, this is such a glam colour for date nights, or rocking a dramatic lip for a wintry walk, with your hair scruffy, your scarf bundled tight, while your makeup looks impeccable! (Can’t you just see this looking INCREDIBLE with some Gen X mustard-coloured accessories or knitwear?)

The three lipsticks are available in one pack here for a slightly cheaper price than buying them separately. All three are beautiful shades, and if you click through to CT’s website you can see swatches of the lipsticks on models with different skin tones and complexions so you can check what it would look like on you – just another reason why this is my favourite makeup brand of the moment!

Now, with a royal wedding coming up in May, don’t you think Charlotte should release a ‘Royal Bride’ shade to celebrate Meghan Markle’s upcoming marriage to Prince Harry…?
