Do you guys remember that silly song Lily the Pink? Maybe it’s just because my mum was a bit of a guitar toting folk singer in her youth, but I used to sing that song alllll the time. Lily the Pink was, of course, the saviour of the human race – so therefore it makes total sense as to why I’ve fallen head over heels for every Mulberry Lily ever made in pink (and there are a lot…)

Bag ‘n’ Shoes: Next Two Part Pointed Flats and Navy and White Striped Shopper
Summer for me is always nautical. I love nautical stuff, as I’m sure you’ve cannily realised from my previous posts. But you don’t have to spend a fortune on trends to get something stylish and practical, and one of my favourite places for affordable fashion is Next!
Bag ‘n’ Shoes: Mulberry Metallic Mushroom Lily and Stuart Weitzman Minx Wedges

This is a bit of an unscheduled post – I have a load of bag ‘n’ shoe combos ready to go, but as I liked this outfit so much on Sunday I wanted to share! This was the Tootsie dress by Marc by Marc Jacobs, rented from Girl Meets Dress. This is the ultimate hedging-your-bets baby shower dress – perfect if you don’t know whether it’s a boy or a girl! Paired with the metallic mushroom Lily from Mulberry and Stuart Weitzman’s Minx wedges, it’s a nice, summery outfit!
Bag ‘n’ Shoes: Modalu St Ives Grab Bag in Orange and Dune Imperia D Wedges in Natural
I’ve got a real thing going on here for Modalu. I apologise, but it seems as though I’ve turned into a fan girl over night. (I blame Tatiana for everything…) But check out this gorgeous lock detail and tell me you don’t feel the same way?
Mulberry Pointed Flats And Me: Together At Last!

At the end of 2013, I got a little bit obsessed by Mulberry’s pointed signature ballerinas. As usual, I waited for a sales bargain, but somehow I completely missed the start of the sale and by the time I got my act together, they had sold out in my size. Not even Mulberry’s helpful customer service department could track any down (there were a pair at Heathrow, apparently! Hmm!). So, I purchased the gorgeous high heeled versions (which I love!) – but I live in flats, so my wistful lusting wasn’t sated… Until I saw a mention of the shoes in the Mulberry section of Purseblog’s forum, that is! Turns out, Kafka.co.uk had some in stock… Not only that, but they were at sale prices. Not only that, but they were in my size. Not only that, but they had both pairs I was hankering after! NOT ONLY THAT, but there was a 10% off code as well! My goodness…

Special Delivery! McQ Swallow Wrap Bracelet

After I ordered my tickets for the McQueen exhibition at the V&A next year (see info here!) I decided to check out the collection online at the label’s website. Most of the items are completely out of my price range, but I did spy this beautiful dove grey leather wrap bracelet, priced at £45!

It finally arrived yesterday and it’s a lovely, light accessory that just so happens to go with my grey Modalu Pippa bag and Mint Velvet plimsolls!

The wrap bracelet comes in a black McQ dust bag with some tags and labels, in case you were wondering!

They also use these cool little stickers to seal the packaging as well!

The double wrap bracelet is really long on my wrist, so I ended up tucking the excess around the buckle, but you can play around with the placement of the straps a little bit…

The leather isn’t the sturdiest type I’ve come across, but the swallow charm is removable if you wanted to add it to a different strap…

You can find the bracelet online at a variety of retailers. Here’s the link to the item on McQueen’s site! (The next thing on my wishlist is a De Manta clutch! Aren’t they fabulous?)

Bag ‘n’ Shoes: Modalu Pippa Grab bag and Mint Velvet taupe suede plimsolls
(EDIT: See the end of my post for international availability on the Mint Velvet shoes!)
Pippa, meet Kate. Kate, meet Pippa. Ah, you’re already acquainted? What a coincidence!

I have to say, before this year, I didn’t take much notice of Pippa Middleton’s style. I really like her columns in Waitrose Magazine, and I enjoyed her book, but her fashion never really made its way onto my radar until I picked up a pretty grey necklace from Accessorize I saw her wearing in a Telegraph piece. From there, it wasn’t too long before I fell in love with the Pippa grab bag in shark from Modalu!

I’d been looking for a replacement for my beloved grey tote bag for a while, since the shoulder strap broke. I never thought a grey tote would be so versatile until I picked it up as a (very poor) replikate of Kate’s grey Tod’s bag. So with mine broken, I was open to alternatives, and as soon as I saw the Pippa bag, I fell in love!

It’s a very handsome and practical bag, and it seems impossible to ever completely fill it up! Plus, all those handy compartments and zips makes organising things a breeze. (We’ve all been there, elbow deep in a bag that’s mysteriously swallowed door keys, right?).

Plus, I love the shell motif on the zipper tags too! The Pippa is currently only available in shark (grey) with silver hardware, so I had to go on eBay to find one with gold.

Anyway, onto my other style influence, Kate, most famous as Pippa’s sister – you might have seen her at Pippa’s debut when she was wearing that fabulous bridesmaid dress. Many people don’t realise this, but Kate was actually the bride. I KNOW! Small world, right?! Anyway, Kate’s been pictured wearing her taupe Mint Velvet plimsolls recently on tour Down Under, and as Mint Velvet have announced they are releasing the shoe again at the beginning of May, I thought I’d do a post about them!

As I’ve mentioned before, my shoe size varies from a 6 (39) to a 7 (40), but I most usually take a 7, so this is the size I ordered. They fit a little snugly, and are narrow in the toe, which is worth mentioning if you’re going to order a pair yourself.

They also have a neat Mint Velvet logo at the base of the heel, which I think is how they were ID’d when Kate first wore them!

I wouldn’t call them my comfiest shoe, especially without socks, but I haven’t really broken them in yet. But they are a very smart pair of shoes if you’re looking for something casual that’s still stylish and somewhat dressy. I also think the grey laces are the final touch that really makes the design feel that much more polished!

And of course, they’re the perfect match for my Pippa bag! Thanks, Middleton sisters!
EDIT: Mint Velvet has been inundated with requests for this item since it first appeared last year (originally priced £79). The company has stated on Facebook that they will be releasing the shoes again in stores and online in the first week of May. Excitingly for international customers, who previously couldn’t order from Mint Velvet, the company has also suggested that they will open facilities for international orders soon. However, you will also be able to order directly from House of Fraser, which offers international shipping to the US, amongst other places. (Read the comments thread on Facebook here for my source on this! You can keep updated about the availability of the Mint Velvet taupe plimsolls here on their website. I don’t have a direct link for the item on House of Fraser yet, but the shoes are likely to appear in this section of the site. You can find House of Fraser’s homepage at http://www.houseoffraser.com/)
Find the Mint Velvet taupe plimsolls, now called Bibi, at Mint Velvet here for £89. For international orders, contact Mint Velvet directly at customercare@mintvelvet.co.uk, or you can wait until they are stocked at House of Fraser: http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/.
The Modalu Pippa grab bag is available in a range of colours on their site here. And, here’s a direct link to the bag in shark, my favourite colour! (Pst – I asked Modalu if they were going to bring back the shark with gold hardware and they told me they were not planning to continue production of the shark colour. So, if it’s a shade you like, bear that in mind!)

Styling Summer Wedges
This summer season (for me, anyway) is going to be all about replikating Kate Middleton’s staple wedges. I know plenty of people scoff at her Corkswoons, Minx and Imperias, but I’m not one of them! I certainly haven’t grown tired of seeing these shoes, and I can’t wait to wear them out and about!
When Dune, the company that now owns Pied A Terre, re-released the Imperia D wedges in natural under the new Dune Black label, I was thrilled – I already had a pair in black, but the natural had been unavailable for a long time. As soon as I saw they were on sale again, I snapped them up! Despite them being under a different brand name, I can confirm they are the same shoe – although why Pied A Terre also has a range of Imperias as well, albeit without the natural colour, I couldn’t tell you.
Once they arrived, I started to wonder – how to accessorize them? So, I put together this Polyvore set with some basic ideas to get my creative juices flowing! (And I resisted the temptation to add my beloved Mulberry Lily in tweed – all of these bags are still available, if you fancy a purchase!)
