French Sole Press Day

You all know I love my flats – specifically French Sole flats! So I was thrilled to get an invite to the French Sole press day this September!

What to wear if not my trusty classic leopard print French Sole flats?!

I love the new design of the interior of the flats – the branding has been updated with a new slick font, and the beige leather with gold text looks amazing. And I love these cute Japanese style cat faces!

Kawaii, no? These sweet little shoes have such a great contrast between the royal blue velvet and the lemony yellow design.

The classic ponyhair designs with animal prints remain a firm favourite – the contrasting trims for all of these are so chic!

I think some of my favourite shoes here are the studded ones below – I just love the quilted effect.

More cat flats! These ones have a cheery expression, don’t they? And the gold and pink is just beautiful.

Classic patent crocs – these are really handy as well as gorgeous. Whenever it rains I like to break mine out, because they’re so hardy against the puddles!

Check out these beautiful whimsical designs! I love this secret garden styling too!

I love the style of having two different designs on your flats. This black swan style is dreamy!

Together: Our Community Cookbook: Book Review Part 2

This weekend, I spent my time cooking 10 recipes from Together: Our Community Cookbook, so I could let you know my thoughts on the content of the book!

For context and a wider view of the project, make sure you read the first part of my review here.

Charlotte Tilbury Stars-In-Your-Eyes Palette

I’m a massive fan of Charlotte Tilbury, particularly her eyeshadow palettes – and the words ‘limited edition’ always have me clicking on the checkout button so fast I’m sure I look like a woman possessed. Last year I bought the Instant Eye Palette as soon as it launched, which was a gorgeous array of nudes, browns, peaches and silvers which you could use to create looks called Day Eye, Desk Eye, Date Eye, and Disco Eye. Together: Our Community Cookbook: Book Review Part 1

img_8197

Together: Our Community Cookbook is probably one of the most significant books in its category to be published this year. It’s not just a collection of recipes, it’s a symbol of hope, renewal, strength, dedication and a celebration of community and of the giving spirit of women. The book represents not just the Duchess of Sussex’s first big solo project since her high profile wedding and entry into the British Royal family, but it’s also a story of how a tragedy has brought a group of people together, united them in grief, and a story about the indefatigable nature of the human spirit. It’s also a melting pot of cultures and identities that neatly describes modern Britain, and the sense of unity and a shared bond is woven throughout the pages within.

Campfire Tripod: Essential Kit!

This campfire tripod is actually a way more essential piece of kit than I expected it to be, and from now on I’m almost certainly bringing it to every camping trip I go on, especially if it’s with friends! Together with the DayHaven tipi tent, pictured above, EasyCamp sent me their Campfire Tripod Deluxe (see more here), and it’s easily one of the best additions to my camping kit that I’ve had recently. In fact, my friends were raving about it on our last trip, so I dare not forget to include it every time we go away now!

Bash Out A Banging BBQ On A Budget

You guys know I love bargains, and there’s really no better place to bag one than Aldi. Even though our closest shop is across town, I’m always happy to pop in and take advantage of those low prices!

DIY Glamping: Scandi Folklore Style

img_5657You guys may have heard a lot about glamping over the years: the luxe way to camp which basically involves turning up at a site to a premade semi-permanent dwelling, usually made of heavy canvas, to enjoy the outdoors without the slightest bit of inconvenience. Well, that’s all well and good if you have deep pockets and you don’t really enjoy camping, but if you’re into going outdoors and you want to introduce a bit of glam to your campsite on a budget, here’s the post for you! Get ready for possibly the most shallow discussion of tents and accessories you’ve probably ever read… Continue reading

Royal Wedding Watching Party

Did you all watch the royal wedding at the weekend? When William and Kate got married we had a great party you can read about here, so I thought we’d do the same for Meghan and Harry!

Protect Your Joints: LQ Liquid Health Jointcare

You probably take your body for granted until you get that first twinge after exercise, or that niggling pain, or that ache a few days after you pushed yourself really hard during a session. Truth is, your body does what it’s supposed to – until it doesn’t! I had an experience like this last year when I sprained my ankle really badly training for the London Marathon. It still hasn’t healed, and no, I didn’t get to compete. I’ve deferred until next year, which gives me even more time to get ready.

Mirroring Meghan Markle’s Royal Style Part One: The Bags

You guy know how much of a fan I am of Kate’s royal fashion, so when Meghan Markle joined the royal family officially, I was thrilled – double the fashion, double the fun! I adore the fact that Meghan brings a whole new style to her official functions, with chic, pared-back pieces being a hallmark of hers. Whilst Kate’s Sloaney, preppy, tailored style is classic and absolutely gorgeous, Meghan’s more laid-back smart-casual wardrobe might resonate more with women who already have a similar style for their everyday looks. So far Meghan’s style hinges on solid primary colours like navy, black, white and green, and consists of skinny or wide leg trousers, simple tops and jumpers, paired with luxurious wrap coats and small, structured crossbody bags which can be carried under the arm or by a top handle.

Here are some of my favourite pieces from Meghan’s wardrobe!
